2017 Woman Making History Luncheon

The American Association of University Women Gaylord Area Branch is pleased to announce that it has chosen to honor Maureen Derenzy  as the 2017 “Woman Making History.” Maureen is the Library Director of Otsego County.  She and her husband, Bradley, have resided in Gaylord for 30 years.  Maureen has two daughters, Alissa Derenzy and Jennifer McBride, and one granddaughter, Erin McBride.

Maureen is an activist and an enthusiastic volunteer.  Her many contributions focus upon advocating for the elderly, adults, children, toddlers, and the disadvantaged.  She has worked with virtually every program in the area that supported causes for literacy and education.  She was instrumental in reestablishing the Otsego County Literacy Council and spearheading the expansion of our library. She has devoted her time and talent to great causes such as the Otsego County Community Foundation, the Volunteer Center of Otsego County, Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Gaylord Woman’s Study Club, Otsego County Historical Society, Gaylord Community Productions.

Our Gaylord Area Branch will honor and thank Maureen for all she has contributed to our community over the years.The luncheon will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at noon at the Otsego Grand Event Center and tickets can be purchased at Saturn Booksellers, Oliver Chiropractic Clinic, or phone Renee’ Elias at (989) 370-0682. Tickets are $25 per person.
